Gen Z: Our Family

Background

Launching a fashion brand in this decade comes with a responsibility to shape the well-being of the generations ahead. In an industry where stories of collapsing textile factories, child labor, and mountains of discarded fast fashion in deserts have become the norm, it's time for a shift. That is why Counting Memories has set out to establish a clothing brand that's not just another player, but a solution in motion. Let's rewrite the narrative, together.

Sustainable Production

Counting Memories' sustainability journey starts right at the beginning of the value chain: the material choice. Durability, resource conservation, and comfort were the driving forces behind opting for organic cotton in crafting our apparel. When compared to conventional cotton, it boasts significant advantages:
0 %

reduced soil erosion potential

0 %

reduced impact on global warming

0 %

reduced soil and water acidification

0 %

reduced land and groundwater consumption

Counting Memories textiles are GOTS certified, meaning they adhere to globally recognized standards for ecological and social criteria in textile production. Ecological criteria include the use of organically grown fibers, avoidance of hazardous chemicals, and adherence to environmental standards throughout the entire manufacturing process. Social criteria encompass fair working conditions, reasonable wages, and adherence to workers' rights. Fair Wear

Counting Memories takes pride in collaborating with Stanley/Stella, a partner that enables us to source sustainable and ethically produced textiles. As a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, they aim to make a positive impact on the lives of people engaged in the value chain. Through close collaboration with a total of nine selected factories in Bangladesh, they are dedicated to enhancing on-site working conditions.

Stanley/Stella continually monitors and reports on the conditions of their partner factories and their workers in Bangladesh. As a Fair Wear Foundation leader, they implement measures like complaint hotlines for factory workers and educational workshops to raise awareness about their rights. More details can be found in their Sustainability Report 2022: https://online.flippingbook.com/view/967600604/28/

Our partner factories must meet selection criteria to make sure they are also driven by the desire to positively impact our ecosystem and industry. We are also always looking for new ways to improve the environmental and social performance of our existing production partners.
